7 october 2012 Group Exhibition Stroom Beringen
With great pleasure I am sending you this invitation for the exposition STROOM that will be held from october 7th until october 28th in the impressive power station of the ancient coal mine of Beringen (Belgium).
For this occasion Miranda, the giant doll, will be carried in procession along the slopes of the slagheap of this mine.
Afterwards she will be exposed, laying in her hammock between the gigantic turbines of the power plant.
I will also show the video of the performance, and, additionally, a whole new series of gouache drawings.
STROOM is an exposition with 18 participating Belgian, Dutch and French artists, organised by podium DAK XL in cooperation with Be-Mine Beringen.

Incubate open source expo
Carrying mirrors along the Waal
a video installation from Julia Boix-Vives @ Incubate open source exhitition
Completely covered by a
slew of oval shaped mirrors, the artist transforms into a landscape
platform. The environment is multiplied on the reflecting surfaces
displaying a rapidly sliding image or making the artist disappear in
alternation .
The mirror in front of her
face prevents her from looking, the other mirrors constrain her
movements.
Slowly she traverses the
camera field while encountering numerous obstacles : the terrain
is rough and slippery along the shores of the Waal.
In the editing of the
video even the performance is multiplied, leaving the spectator in a
disturbing insecurity.
